SNEAK PEEK!!

I thought I would give you guys a little sneak peek of new product to come!! This has already been ordered... so make your list now!! Cosmo Cricket is so fabulous! This is one photo from the ordered lines from Cosmo Cricket... 1. their new line of "Blackboard" albums, 2. the new "Cogsmo" line (a cute robotic boy line), 3. "Get Happy" (bright line of primary colors, great for anything, especially school... i think), 4. my personal favorite "Honey Pie" (their new Easter/spring line... love it) Are any of you excited yet?!?! This is all from their brand new release and will be in the store in a another month or so!!

Oooh!! I love this line!! Cosmo Cricket has once again done a great job!! This is Hey Sugar and it is beautiful!! This line is great for V-Day, but it definitely works for anything else as well!! Stay tuned for a cute little project I've been working on with this line!

Yep, that's right... we got Paper Trends, Scrapbook Trends and Card Trends in today!! We were all in need of a reading fix!! We have these awesome American Crafts Valentine ribbon! And let me tell you... these are too cute!! They have already bee hit hard tonight by all the ladies here for the "Get Organized Challenge"!!

Also... a little preview of what's to come! I know we have had a little dry spell lately, but that is about to end!! We have a few incredible companies coming to SI&M in the next few weeks!! A LITTLE LATE

I am lagging behind with getting samples made for the store with all of the new products. I just scrapbooked some of my Christmas pictures and thought that I would share them. Most of the are photos from the different holiday events with friends, so they are not so traditional! I used the Love, Elsie Noel lines for these! (and no, we don't have anymore of this line... sorry!)

POCKET FULL OF POSIES

I absolutely LOVE all of these die cut flowers!! They are so much fun and so versatile. We also now have them all in different colors of felt too!! Yahoo! This is a little project I saw completed somewhere and just had to duplicate! I thought it was very festive and appropriate for Valentine's Day. I took 2 flowers (different colors and shapes) then added lots of buttons wired together as the centers. I put thick wire as the stems for my flowers, which worked pretty well! After putting my precious flowers in a vase, I added a ribbon on little tag! I really like them, so I thought I would share them with you!

We have a new teacher!!! We are very excited to introduce Karen Gloster as an new teacher here at SI&M. This lady has proven to be the new card gooroo (expert)!!! Her first class will take place Sat. the 2nd and will be a class on "Iris Folding" cards!! These are amazing! This cards in this photo are examples of some of the types of cards you will be learning to create! (I hope to do "introduce" Karen to all of you guys via the blog very soon!) Also, we are hoping to make her new card classes a monthly deal!! Yahoo!

SOMETHING PERSONAL...

I try really hard to keep this blog all about the store, scrapbooking and inspiration. But I have a little news to share with you that I know alot of people have been waiting on! As most of you know, I (Valerie) graduated from college in May 2007 with a B.A. in Psychology. Ever since then I have been fruitlessly trying to find a job. Several things have come about, but I have been fortunate enough to continue to be "picky". I really wanted something to do with my field of study and expertise, and I was determined not to settle for less. Well... I now have a job. It was offered to me today! I am now a full-time Counselor at Inner Harbour Hospital in Douglasville, GA. I start at the end of the month. But... don't fret, I will definitely still be here!! With my schedule, I will eventually be working long days 3 days a week and then off 4 days. This is perfect because not only can I now start work on my Master's degree, but I can continue to be more than involved at SI&M. I know that there have been so many of you that have been aware of my situation. I have tried to be positive, but this was harder than I ever imagined!! I just wanted to give you all the good news... I got EXACTLY what I have wanted!! So... thank you so much for all of your prayers and well wishes!! They have all paid off!! Have a great day!!!

Kards for Kids
We really wanted to do something "sweet" for Valentine's Day this year!! We decided to do a "Valentine Drive". SI&M will be participating in J93.3's annual Kards for Kids. We are going to encourage everyone, to have fun creating a few valentine cards and then bring them to us. We will then be getting these sweet notes to Christian City Children's Home in Union City for the kids!! Everybody needs to be told they're special, kind and loved on this holiday! So... help us let these kids know!! The more the merrier!! You can deliver these to us from February 4-9! Bring in 3 valentine's cards and you will recieve a free thank you gift from us here at SI&M!!

...WHAT MATTERS

A couple days ago, my mom and I were both working downstairs on the floor at the store. One of our young college girls (a customer) came in and was so excited because she was about to embark on a new big project. As usual, we just chatted with her for a little while, then my mom asked what she was going to be working on. She told us that her grandmother had cancer and they had recently learned that it had spread to her brain. The doctors told the family that she would probably begin to forget things because of the illness. This girl said that this turn of events had really bothered her because she and her grandmother were very close and she was terrified that her grandmother would forget her! She said that her new project was to make an album just for her grandmother, something that she could look at everyday to help preserve her memories. By then end of her story, I think that everyone in the store had the chills!!

I just wanted to share this story, because we are fortunate enough to hear so many of these kinds of coping and healing techniques that this wonderful hobby brings! I just wanted to remind everyone just how wonderful scrapbooking is and what it ultimately can mean to others!!
Man, we have a wonderful hobby and love!

JUST IN...

Yeah... we got some new Christmas paper!! We have gone through so many holiday lines already, that there is practically nothing left!! We just got in some of the new Flair Designs stuff! It is beautiful!

We also just received all of the special order QK Silhoutte Digital Design Portfolios!! These are too cool! So if you had ordered any of these, make sure you come and get them! (*remember: they will be held for only 2 weeks)

HAPPY HOUR & MORE

I just wanted to share the Happy Hour project for 1/5 - 1/10... it is a Year in Review mini album. This project is only $5!

FYI------ I also wanted to make sure that you all know... K&Co. is no longer making the custom school albums that we have always purchased before. We just recieved the last shipment we will get yesterday! So... if you want any of Fayette's school abums, you must get them now, because the company is no longer making them! These will be going quickly because lots of people are stocking up!!

And... Don't forget that we have the "Get Organized Challenge" coming up next week! We have lots of people signed up already, so this shoulg be a fun series!!

NEW INSPIRATION!

I just had to share this new layout that Donna did! I absolutely love it! I seem to have been so "pooped" out lately on inspiration, but this has renewed it! I really want to get out some stuff to scrap now. Isn't this great!?

If you'll notice her big & small clear acrylic photo corners... we do have these in the store right now! These add just the perfect touch on any project. She stamped on these with Technique Tuesday stamps and Stazon black ink! Awesome!
