MORE ITALY...

These photos are from Florence. They said that the train was a "speed train" that they took from Rome to Florence. Pretty cool! Today I believe they are taking a wine tour around Tuscany! Hopefully we will get some pictures from there too!!

More Italy!!

I've gotten some more pictures from Italy! Wednesday the went to the Vatican and spent most of the day there. They got to see the Sistine Chapel (I'm soooo jealous!!). Today's pics are of St. Peters Cathedral, the Spanish Steps and somewhere that they ate dinner one night. They said that several of the tables around them ordered something called a tobacco bong?!?!? They said that it is a pipe with a long hose that they share around the table with some type of tobacco in it!! Interesting huh?!? Is that the thing in Alice In Wonderland that the caterpillar smokes? Anyways, I just thought that was interesting... you definitely don't see that in the States! My Mom said that she tried to comment on the blog to everyone, but it wouldn't let her!! Isn't it amazing to think that halfway around the world she is looking at the blog almost everyday too!!?? Everyone have a great day!

NEWS FROM ABROAD

Some of you may know, but Claire (the owner of SI&M and my mother) and her husband, Don (my dad) are off in Italy! No, I don't know how I got left behind and yes, I am extremely jealous!! Whenever they travel I always have them send me a few photos so I can see some of it too! Well, I thought that I would also share them with all of you! We can all live vicariously through them!!! They will only be there for about a week, so they are trying to hit most of the highlights... their first stop was Rome!! This, obviously, is the Colosseum! I am not an expert on Italy since I have never studied up on it, but I will try to paraphrase some of the things they have told me... which really hasn't been much! Enjoy!

These pictures were taken at Pompeii and in the background you can see Mt. Versuvius, which is the volcano that erupted and destroyed Pompeii 2000 years ago. Pretty awesome, huh?!?
