Yes the rumors are true! We are in the process of clearing out the store. Everything is on sale! All product is 25 to 50 % off and the racks and other fixtures are for sale also! I will be on vacation next week July 25th - August 1st and the store will be closed. But August 4th we will be open again clearing out everything!

I made this little mini album for a friend of mine and his new baby! Neither he or his wife scrapbook, so I wanted to give them some that they could easily put photos in. I got one of the EK photo mailers and covered the pages with cute baby papers, I then added photo corners, so all they had to do was slide them in. I did embellish the front with my own cute touch of buttons, but other than that kept it simple! I can't wait to give it to them... easy and thoughtful!!

I tend to go on scrapping sprees and then I seem to be "too busy" for a little while and get left behind. :( We have decided to challenge you and ourselves to make a layout a week. This can be a double page or a double page layout... whatever you love the best. To help you (and my mom) out... I am creating pamphlets that you can pick up at the store every week. These will be our "SI&M Sketch of the Week". These pamphlets will have a sketch, a place for notes and/or ideas and am inspirational idea. The square in Fayetteville had a Fall Festival where kids could come and trick or treat on the square!! It was so cute. They had pumpkin contests, candy and lots of fun!

Yah! We are moving furniture and product into the new store! Randy(our miracle worker) has done a fabulous job turning a 100 year old mess into "our" store! We are sooo excited! Since we are on track for our opening I have a few announcements!

We will be having a VIP Celebration to preview our new store on Tuesday night September 2nd
from 5 to 8. VIP's come join us for refreshments and celebrate the new store with us!

We will then be open to the general public starting on Wednesday September 3rd. Our Grand Reopening Celebration will be Friday and Saturday.

Hey! I'm back!

Hey! I’m BACK! In June, Valerie blogged and said that the month of May had been crazy… well who would have thought that it would get worse! Yes, Valerie bought her house but then I have been away from the store for almost 6 weeks due to several surgeries! Hopefully, this week I will get the “all clear” and be back to the store full time!

Donna, Linda, Paige and Karen have been keeping the store rolling and I appreciate all their hard work! They are awesome!

Now back to business! We have just gotten in some terrific lace paper from KI Memories, so come check it out! Also a beautiful, summery, line called Sunrise Smoothie from Cloud 9 Designs, some great travel paper from Die Cuts with a View, and Appleton a great “back to school” line from Scenic Route. A GIFT ALBUM!

Here are some pictures from the album I have been working on for a friend of mine that has gotten married! The album consists of all of the fun, serious, formal and silly things that we have done to get ready for the wedding. We have been getting pumped up for almost a year and it has now finally happened. I have put all my scrapbook time into this album lately. I've been on vacation in Hawaii, I'm buying a house, my best friend got married... excuses, excuses, excuses! We've been busy at the store too! I know, I know... I haven't posted in quite some time... sorry! Things are awfully crazy, but I promise that I will try to be better! I thought I would share some of the recent or upcoming happenings with the store.

April 5th... Beachy Keen Paper Piecing Class with Karen! Cost is $12. These are so cute... get to the store and check them out! For more info check out the Calendar of Events.

May 3rd... National Scrapbook Day All Day Crop! This crop will be from 10am to 10pm, it will include gifts, snacks and lots of crop time! There is only a limited number of spots, so sign up today! Cost is $30.

SI&M has been cooking up some cool events... we are taking our show on the road!! We have been working in conjunction with Jumping Jelly Beans and will now be offering a couple scrapbooking classes there for the moms of the little "jumping jelly beans". This place is so cute!! For more info contact us or Jumping Jelly Beans! www.jellybeanparty.com While your kids play, now you can play too! We are also now doing classes at the Fayette Senior Services. This is a wonderful organization that offers tons of cool stuff for seniors totake part in!!

We also got 3 Big Bites! The new Cropadile that has a six inch reach! These won't last long. We will reorder but I don't know how long it will take to get them back in!

As most of you know ...Valerie is the technology behind our team! I can barely check email! But we have fabulous new product in and I need to learn to show it to you so I am going to attempt to give you a peek! As you know the GCD Studios lines came last week. We have Lost in Paradise, Whoop de Doo, Zen Garden and Carnival Ride.

American Crafts- New Thickers alphabets and chipboard accents, Rub ons, journal stickers, and of course the beautiful spring ribbon rolls!

Scenic Route - 3 mini lines- Roxbury (the wonderful Christmas line), Loveland (my favorite Valentine line) and The beautiful new Easter line, Lynden. Scenic Route is definitely one of our favorite companies! They have just introduced 2 more lines that will be in soon! I can't wait!

JOB UPDATE

As most of you know, I have recently started my career in the field of Psychology! I am now a Children's Counselor at Inner Harbour Hospital in Douglasville, GA. Inner Harbour is a non-profit residential treatment center for emotionally and behaviorally disabled children ages 6 - 18. I am working with the kids ages 6 - 12! It is pretty intense but extremely interesting.

I just learned something today that is pretty cool... Publix and Inner Harbour are "partners". This means, that if you shop at Publix and you are interested in helping out Inner Harbour, you can pick up one of the little barcode key tags that I have left at the store. Every time you go to Publix, have them scan your tag and they donate a certain percentage to Inner Harbour... pretty cool, huh?!? I brought a whole bunch to the store, so if you are interested just let an employee know! I would love for all of them to be picked up. Inner Harbour is doing some incredible work with children, so I encourage you to get one of these. All it takes is for you to put it on your key chain and have them scan it everytime you grocery shop!! If you want to check the website out, it is... www.innerharbour.org . Thanks so much everybody!

We really wanted to do something "sweet" for Valentine's Day this year!! We decided to do a "Valentine Drive". SI&M will be participating in J93.3's annual Kards for Kids. We are going to encourage everyone, to have fun creating a few valentine cards and then bring them to us. We will then be getting these sweet notes to Christian City Children's Home in Union City for the kids!! Everybody needs to be told they're special, kind and loved on this holiday! So... help us let these kids know!! The more the merrier!! You can deliver these to us from February 4-9! Bring in 3 valentine's cards and you will recieve a free thank you gift from us here at SI&M!!

Basic Grey's Two Scoops has finally arrived!! This is one of Basic Grey's best lines in a while! Beautiful colors and great patterns! There are some really cute stamps too!! I love it!! There are a few more new things in today... lots of new Bazzill cardstock and some great new acrylic pieces in! There is one more acrylic scalloped edge album and several new ribbon slides of all different sizes!

There is a new company coming out this season... and Crafter's Home stores have been chosen to preview it before anyone else!!! Since we are part of that group, that means we will be one of the few preview stores!! This new company is called GCD Studios!! GCD has been described by some as Basic Grey mixed with a Chatterbox and and a little bit of LUXE. I actually agree!! This is so exciting!! I believe that towards the end of next week we will be allowed to post pictures... I'll keep you updated on that!

I am lagging behind with getting samples made for the store with all of the new products. I just scrapbooked some of my Christmas pictures and thought that I would share them. Most of the are photos from the different holiday events with friends, so they are not so traditional! I used the Love, Elsie Noel lines for these! (and no, we don't have anymore of this line... sorry!)
